Ten Reasons Why Online Surveys are the Future Of Marketing

Customers are tough cookies. They're extremely media aware and increasingly cynical it's a clever marketeer who can get under their skin. Online surveys reinvent the traditional format and offer a unique way of interaction all the benefits of the internet without the programming.

Here are ten reasons why they may be the silver bullet marketeers' need, complete with examples supplied by Martin Day, managing director of Survey Galaxy - one of a new breed of websites making online surveys quicker and cheaper.

1. It's cheap as buttons

Select the right survey website and creating surveys can be free of any charge and the cost to publish is minimal. Useful information harvested from surveys can be reused and repackaged in other marketing and PR for use in press outlets making it a very efficient form of information gathering.

2. It's easy peasy

Anyone can develop an online survey. Survey sites allow people who are interested in the benefits of surveys, rather than technicalities, to side-step the required programming skills and create relevant up-to-the-minute surveys, instantly surveys that are even easier to complete than they are to make.

3. Anyone can play

Once the survey is online it's a simple step to promote it, either through email (with a link enclosed), via a link from a website or referenced by other forms of advertising. Anyone who has the link can be connected instantly to the survey, at a time that's convenient to them, 24x7.

4. We've all got an opinion and we like to give it

Customers like surveys they're not seen as spam, but as an empowering opportunity to make their voice heard and a chance to have an impact on a brand. They can be particularly good for broaching sensitive subjects with concerned employees; a survey asking a workforce on their opinion of change allows the key issues to be raised in a positive way and encourages employee participation. Online surveys allow the message to reach each individual and invite feedback in a manageable form.

5. Get inside their heads

You can lead a customer to an advertisement but you can't make them think. Surveys actively engage the respondents, who think about the question before giving their response.

6. Beautiful relationships start here

It needn't all end at the end of the survey while you have their attention and are in the mood you can ask if they want to sign up for more information or a regular newsletter making the most of the window when you have their interest.

7. If you like this, you'll love

Perhaps one of the strongest elements in a survey is the ability to make inspired or useful connections instantly to other areas. By including links within the survey to websites that offer detailed information you are able to reinforce the marketing message.

8. Subtly does it

Surveys can be used to associate a product with positive attributes. By listing the many features of a product and asking the respondent how important they are, regardless of their response, the product will be associated with the features; if they are rated as important the positive impact is endorsed by the customer.

9. It's not just about selling

A survey is an effective, quick and easy method to promote and gain acceptance for a difficult proposal; maybe a public body trying to gain acceptance and support for a particular scheme. Take the example of a city trying to gain support from the general public for their bid to host a future Olympic Games. A survey can explain each benefit putting the respondent in a much better position to appreciate what the real advantages are that might just combat any negative headlines. As well as promoting the cause, useful feedback is gained that can be used to fine tune the overall marketing strategy.

10. Fresh topics engage interest

Thinking laterally a lively and imaginative approach to surveys can provide the 'hook' to engage respondents. The survey subject can be focused towards a particular group on a subject close to theirs hearts. The survey's marketing message can take the form of a simple brand awareness message by stating that 'this survey was sponsored by brand name', or by finding a link from the subject matter to the product something that is surprisingly easy and highly effective. Discover the benefits of including in your website a Public Survey section as many people who enjoy completing crosswords and doing word puzzles enjoy completing surveys. Having a public survey notice board as part of a website is a low cost and automated method that helps to increase traffic and establish a loyal and returning following. Unlike discussion boards there is no opportunity for people to disrupt the site by inappropriate remarks as the survey results are displayed in summary form enabling them to dispense with moderators free and maintenance.

Many of the techniques and a few more to boot are contained in the following sample survey:-

Making Customer Satisfaction Surveys Work

Why bother?

Good customer service is the life blood of any business. Although new customers are important good customer service will help generate customer loyalty and repeat business. With each satisfied customer your business is likely to win many more customers through recommendations and remember, if you are not taking care of your customers, your competition will.

A Customer Satisfaction survey will help you not only identify problem areas but will also demonstrate to your customers that you care and are proactive in looking for ways to improve the service that you provide.

Where to start?

Objective - Before you start compiling your survey you should first consider what the objectives of the survey are, in that way you will remain focused and find it easier to decide what questions to ask.

Analysis - In addition to the objective consider also how you will analyse the answers having completed the survey. Keep in mind that closed questions (where the respondent is asked to choose from a limited number of responses) are easier to analyse than open questions (where the respondent can reply in anyway they want). Much will depend on the volume of respondents, the higher the volume the more important it is to have an easy method of analysing the results.

Opportunity Keep in mind that as well as obtaining valuable market research data customer surveys are also a good way to publicise aspects of your service that your customers may not be aware of. After you have drafted your survey read through the survey from a market research view point and check that you are asking the right questions in the right way and that with the feedback information you will be able to make informed decisions. Then, read through the survey from a marketing view point, check that you have phrased each question so that every opportunity has been taken to promote your business? The ideal question will perform the following three functions:-

Market research provide valuable feedback to help you improve your customer satisfaction levels and in turn your business

Marketing promote aspects of your business

Information/Education advertise a service that you provide that your customers may not have been unaware of

For example:-

Do you find the in-store baby changing facilities useful?

By asking this question not only will the store receive good feedback on the facility they provide but they will also advertise their baby changing facilities and promote themselves as a family friendly store beyond those customers who have a specific need for the facility provided.

Warts and all to benefit most from a customer survey you need to be prepared to dig deep and accept the worst. A customer satisfaction survey should be designed to highlight problems so that they can be addressed; regular customer satisfaction will prevent complacency and will also give early warning on where your competitors initiatives may be loosing you business.

What to ask?

Although each business is likely to have specific and unique factors that are important in providing good customer services there are common areas that are relevant to all businesses be they a physical store, Internet based or a service industry. The following are some key areas to providing good customer service.

Communication - Do you make it easy for the customer to communicate with you? When a customer telephones is the phone answered promptly; are enquiries about products or services properly handled? A good business will make every effort to ensure that whatever the customers query it is resolved by the right person, quickly, politely and fairly. If a problem is not resolvable immediately do you promise to respond in a given time period and do you deliver on your promise? Use a customer satisfaction survey to confirm that all your staff are perceived by your customers as being helpful, courteous and knowledgeable.

Location Do your customers find it easy to visit you, if a physical store, is it conveniently located with good access?

Making it pleasant, making it easy - For a virtual business it is important to ensure that your website is aesthetically pleasing and easy to use. Physical store or website, is the store properly laid out, can your customers find what they need and is there sufficient information and help on hand to explain how a particular product works?

The right quality products Not only should you measure the quality of the service that you provide but you should check that the products and services that you market are what the customer wants and closely match their expectations.

Value for money Cheap or expensive is not always a good measure, value of money is. Do your customers equate your business with value for money, if not, why not?

Speed and attention No matter what the business, the majority of customers will want to be dealt with quickly but attentively. Are you doing everything you can to avoid delays? Good businesses will try to treat each customer as an individual, does yours? Attention is one thing but this has to be hand- in-hand with a quick and satisfactory resolution of the query.

Demographics and Specific issues Take the opportunity to profile your customers, for example where do they live and what is their age group? The more you try to understand your customers the better you will be able to target your business. Within the survey allow customers to highlight specific problems and provide contact details.

What next?

Having completed the survey analyse the results.

Trends Look for common and specific areas where the service is failing. Ask yourself if the criticism is valid and is there anything that can be done to resolve or minimise the problem?

Training Are the staff properly trained and do they have sufficient knowledge? Where staff training programmes have been implemented have they had a positive impact on the business?

Follow-up If a customer who has completed a survey has raised a specific issue ensure that they are contacted and their complaint addressed. Dont loose an opportunity to resolve a problem and keep a customer.

Continuously Monitor - Make-changes and then measure by issuing further surveys.

The following sample customer satisfaction survey for a store demonstrates some of the areas discussed please visit:-

The Truth About Paid Online Surveys - A Question and Answer Session

With thousands of people trying to find a way to make some extra money online everyday, paid online survey sites are popping up everywhere. With so many out there (some good, some - well, not so good) it's hard to determine what to believe. In an attempt to clarify the ins and outs, and the myths and realities of paid online surveys, I've composed a series of questions and answers to help you sort everything out. We'll start with the basics and then get into the nitty gritty.

Question: Is this for real? Why would someone pay me to take online surveys?

Answer: Yes, this is for real. There are literally hundreds of legitimate market research companies out there who offer incentives for your opinion. Companies have come to these firms to get public opinions on their products or services and are willing to pay them to find out what you think. They then pass some of that payment onto you.

Question: What are the surveys about?

Answer: Just about anything that you can think of. You may be asked to review a movie trailer for a new movie, what kind of peanut butter you like, what restaurants you frequent, you name it. From barbeque grills to medical questions to appliances to what you had for dinner last night. There are sites for specific age groups, professions, hobbies and interests. The surveys are generally very interesting and these companies are looking for your opinion on how to shape their products.

Question: How does it work?

Answer: Each company works a bit differently, but here are the basics of online surveys. You will sign-up for a paid survey site. You will enter some basic demographic information (age, gender, etc), and when they have a survey available in which they are looking for someone who fits your profile, they will send you an invitation to take a survey. The invitation will usually contain a link directly to the survey and the incentive they are offering for you to take the survey. Just click on the link and take the survey to qualify for the reward.

Question: What kinds of incentives are offered?

Answer: The incentives vary for each site, but generally the incentives take the following forms: cash, gift certificates (Amazon gift certificates being the most popular), merchandise (DVDs, small appliances, electronic gadgets, cookware, etc), and charity donations. Each survey site will offer one or several of the above incentives for your participation in their surveys. Some will offer these straight out, for example "get paid $5.00 to take this survey", some offer these in the form of a drawing and others have a point system in which accumulated points can be "cashed in" for the items above.

Question: Will you get spammed by signing up for paid survey sites?

Answer: No, but you do have to be careful. There are some sites out there that are simply advertising firms posing as paid online survey sites. Here's my advise on how to tell the difference. First, if they offer you a chance at a fantastic prize for signing up, such as a car or a boat, I would be a bit weary and do some more research before you sign-up. Second, if the survey to sign-up for the site consists of a lot of questions as to whether or not you want more information on other products, walk away, you're certain to get spammed. Just remember that a legitimate market research firm will not endorse a product or service, they are supposed to be unbiased. Third, read the privacy policy if you have any concerns. The majority of the sites out there are legitimate and will only email you if there is a survey available or if there is important information they need to notify you of.

Question: Should you pay for a database of paid survey sites?

Answer: No. There are several reasons why you shouldn't pay a dime to take online surveys. First, with a little effort you'll be able to find all of the sites yourself - free. There are a lot of free sites that have pretty good lists and also a few really good free sites out there that have comprehensive free paid survey directories with hundreds of listings. Secondly, market research firms are actually prohibited from charging people to participate in surveys and frown upon anyone who does.

Question: Can I get rich just by taking online surveys?

Answer: I've had so many people ask me if there are going to be able to retire by taking online surveys. Well, that's just not going to happen. Where it is possible to make a decent amount of money by making referrals or by running a survey related website, you're just not going to be making a full-time salary by simply taking surveys. There are a lot of sites out there advertising that you can make thousands of dollars per week or make $45 dollars and hour for taking online surveys (you can actually make $45 dollars an hour for a particular survey, but you won't always make that much and it may only be a 10 minute survey).

Question: How much can I make?

Answer: That's really hard to say. It really depends on a number of factors. How many sites did you sign-up with? How often do you take the surveys you are invited to take? What is your demographic? Etc But I won't just leave you hanging at that. I would say, if you sign-up for a number of survey sites, take the majority of the surveys you are invited to and are not limited in life experience, you could make perhaps $1,000 to $2,000 a year in cash or something equivalent. Mostly you will get smaller payments ($1.00 to $10.00) for a survey but I've seen them pay as much as $200. Treat this as extra cash, not a career. You can easily make enough to take the family out for dinner, buy a few extras, get a few nice things for around the house or save it all for your Christmas shopping.

Question: So, is it worth it?

Answer: Yes, I think so. Whereas, it's not going to make you filthy rich, it's certainly an easy and fun way to make a few extra bucks. I find the surveys to be enjoyable to participate in and for the time spent, the compensation is pretty good.

That wraps up this question and answer session. Hopefully this article has shed some light on the world of paid online surveys. If you cut through the hype and know what to look for, online surveys can be an enjoyable way to make some extra money. You'll get to see new products before they come out, give your opinion on how to make existing products better and get paid to do so. Not too bad for a few minutes of your time.

ort For Organ Donation High: Survey

Family consent key

(NC)-Canadians overwhelmingly support the idea of organ donation. A 2001 survey by the Environics Research Group of more than 1,516 Canadians revealed that 96% of Canadians support the idea of organ and tissue donation. They also have a fairly good knowledge of the official way to express their intention to donate with their provinces and territories.

A total of 46% of Canadians have signed their cards or registered their intentions to be a donor with their province or territory. However, 45% remain uncommitted. Only 9% say they have decided not to donate.

89% of those who have signed up (46%) have also discussed their wishes with their families. The challenge facing Canada is to get the 45% who remain uncommitted to take the decision, sign up and then tell their families. It is a life-saving, life-improving decision and it could be your last.

For more information on organ and tissue donation and how you can donate, visit www.healthcanada.ca/organandtissue on the Internet.

Understanding Survey Software Features

If you take a look at the features that different survey softwares offer, you will quickly realize that understanding all of them is no mean task. But it is very important that you do because only then you can choose the right survey software. It is important for one other reason, it determines your price. More features invariably means more dollars. So if you don't choose the right survey software, you might end up paying more for features you don't need.

While it is impossible and not even worthwhile to look at all the features, here is a look at some of the important ones. Chances are that these are the ones will make or break your decision. The features have been divided into 6 categories based on their function in the process of conducting an online survey.

Survey creation

  • Images, sounds, video - This allows you to insert images, sounds, and videos in your surveys, and can enhance the appearance of your surveys. However, use it only when necessary since it increases the time it takes to download and display your survey, and certainly don't overdo it.

  • Question library, response library, sample surveys - These allow you to create surveys quickly since you don't have to create them from scratch. They are a must if you do a lot of surveys regularly. And they don't impact the price that much, so you might as well opt for them.

  • Skip logic - This allows you to skip questions depending on the answers to previous questions. Most survey softwares allow either AND or OR logic to decide whether to skip or not, but some allow a combination of any logical conditions. It might sound like a "nice-to-have" feature rather than a "must-have", but you will be surprised how often you need to skip questions in your surveys.

  • Data piping - This allows you to use the answers to some questions in the following questions. This is a very neat feature and it allows you to "personalize" your surveys. For e.g., you can say "Thanks Steve" instead of only "Thanks" if you know that the name of the respondent is Steve from a previous question. It also allows you to ask questions like "What do you like most about Coke?" when the respondent has selected Coke as his/her favorite drink in the previous question.

  • Advanced survey creation features (spell check, auto-correct, thesaurus, import from MS Word) - These are fairly advanced features and not really required in most cases, especially if you don't do surveys regularly. You can spend the time to spell check the survey yourselves. However, if you do a lot of surveys, then you might want these features. But they will impact the price quite a lot since they are considered as "premium" features.

  • Branding (your logo and background color) - This allows you to place your company logo and use your company website's background color for your surveys. This is good enough in most cases, but not if you are looking to customize each and every aspect of the survey. It is quite an important feature since it gives your respondents the feeling that they are still on your website.

  • Advanced survey presentation features (pre-designed editable survey templates, new templates, full-customized look) - These are fairly advanced features and allow you to customize almost every aspect of the survey. Survey softwares do this in a variety of ways: they have pre-designed editable templates, ability to create new templates, or create surveys with a full-custom look. These features are also considered as "premium" features and will impact the price quite a lot.

Survey Distribution and Tracking

  • Handheld device - This allows you to distribute your surveys on hendheld devices. This method of distributing is not as common as the other methods like placing link on website, embedding entire survey in websites, sending email invitation with link, or embedding entire survey in emails and newsletters. But it is definitely becoming popular because of the convenience it offers for taking surveys "on the road". As of now though, it is considered as a "premium" feature and will impact the price.

  • Track respondents - These allow you to track your respondents after they receive your email invitations. The simpler ones allow you to maintain an email list and send email invitations to all or some email addresses in the list. The more complex ones allow you to create an "audience" from the list in a variety of ways. They also allow you to track who read your email invitation and clicked on what links, who took the survey and who didn't, send reminders to the ones who didn't, etc. All these complex tracking activities fall more under the realm of "campaign management" than conducting surveys though. If you need these features, you are much better off going for a full-blown campaign management solution than a survey solution with half of what you need.

Taking Survey

  • Password protected surveys - This allows you to protect your surveys with a password. The respondents have to know the password to be able to take the survey.

  • Save and continue later - This allows your respondents to save the survey and continue later. It is a very good feature to have especially if your surveys are going to be long. Some survey softwares make the respondents explicitly save a link and bookmark it to continue later. These don't work that well compared to some others that don't require the respondents to do as much.

  • Response validation - This allows you to validate the responses your respondents enter. These features are very important since they ensure that your respondents enter "valid" responses and increases the quality of the results. Always prefer survey softwares that have more types of response validation.

  • Respondent uniqueness control - This allows you to ensure that a respondent takes the survey only once. There are a few ways to do this and not all of them are "full-proof". If you want to strictly enforce respondent uniqueness, make sure that the survey software allows you to send unique URLs to every email recipient. It is the only "full-proof" method of enforcing respondent uniqueness.

Response Collection

  • Email notification upon response submission - This allows you to get email notifications when a respondent completes a survey. It is the only way to get the responses with survey softwares that don't store them in a database. But it is also offered as an addon by those that do store them in databases.

Survey Analysis

  • Graphical reports - This allows you to graph the results and not all survey softwares have this feature. If you like to see results in neat-looking graphs, make sure that the survey software has this feature. Check out the sample reports; most companies have them on their website. Or better yet, try out the product and generate them yourselves!

  • Advanced analysis features (cross-tabulation, sub-set analysis, 360 degree feedback, etc) - These allow you to perform advanced analysis on the results. Cross-tabulation allows you to relate the responses of one question to those of another. Sub-set analysis allows you to perform analysis on a sub-set of the responses by filtering out certain responses. These are definitely "premium" features and will impact the price.

  • Export data - This allows you to export the responses so you can do analyses in your favorite tool, like Excel or SPSS. Make sure that the survey software has this feature, especially if it doesn't natively support the advanced analyses that you want to do.

Report Distribution

  • Save in PDF, Word, Excel, Powerpoint format - This allows you to save the report in one of the mentioned formats. It is a very convenient feature to have if you are going to distribute your report a lot.

How To Conduct Effective Online Surveys

Although they are inexpensive and product fast results, online surveys still need to be conducted properly to be really effective. The key steps for conducting effective online surveys are:

  • Identify your objective

  • Decide what information you need

  • Develop a questionnaire

  • Conduct the survey

  • Analyze the responses

  • Recommend a course of action

* Identify your objective

Online surveys are conducted to find out the characteristics, behaviors, opinions, and knowledge of a particular population. No matter what the subject matter, all surveys are conducted with an objective, to gather information relevant to a specific problem or situation. And the key to a successful survey is clearly identifying that objective upfront. To do that, ask yourself "what problem am I trying to solve?" The ideal objective has a narrow scope and can be clearly stated. The wider the scope, the more complex your survey and the less meaningful its results. Always remember, your survey is only as good as your understanding of your objective!

* Decide what information you need

Once you have defined your objective, identify the information you need to gather to achieve your objective. If the objective is clear and narrow, the information you need to gather will be apparent. Be specific and avoid the temptation to gather "extra" bits of information that are "nice to know" but not relevant to your objective. Once you have identified the information you need, you should explore the possibility of gathering it from existing data sources. With an abundance of information available from corporate databases and public information sources, you might gather the information without even conducting a survey!

* Develop a questionnaire

Developing the questionnaire is undoubtedly the most important part of conducting a survey. The quality of the questions will determine the quality of the results and the effectiveness of your survey. Get tips for developing an effective questionnaire.

* Conduct the survey

Once you have developed the questionnaire, you need to test it on a few people to determine if it is clearly written and can be understood by people representing your potential respondents. Testing the survey might take several iterations, but it is well worth the effort. Once you are satisfied that your questionnaire is clear and unambiguous, you are ready to conduct your survey.

If you are going to distribute your survey through email, make sure that your email message is clear and compelling. A boring message will not get the attention of your potential respondents and decrease your response rate. Additionally, you should also remember the following things:

  • Address emails to a single person whenever possible.

  • Always use the blind carbon copy (BCC) if you must send a single email message to a group of people.

  • Include a valid email address in the "From" field or the recipients will consider your message as spam.

  • Provide the URL that will take people directly to your survey, if you are inviting them to the website to take the survey.

  • Tell recipients how to contact you if they have a problem or concern.

  • Identify the source of purchased email addresses so recipients know who to contact if they want to be removed from the list.

  • Ignore the "flame" or "hate" messages you might receive in response to your email invitation. A small percentage of the recipients always take offense to something or the other.

If you are going to distribute your survey from your website, you need to consider how will get visitors to take the survey. If your site has just enough traffic, you can probably place a hypertext link on your home page through which visitors can reach your survey. If you have very heavy traffic, you can use a program on your web server to randomly deliver your survey to some of the visitors. However, if your website doesn't have enough traffic, you should consider sending invitations by email or other traditional methods.

Once you have sent out notifications, responses will begin to come in immediately. For online surveys that invite individual participants (email or postal mail), most people will respond within 72 hours of receiving your invitation. Surveys that rely on passive participation (clicking on website links or responding to indirect advertising) generally take much longer. In either case, you need to decide how long to keep your surve active based on your target audience and how many responses you need to collect. If you are surveying a known group of people (e.g. customers, employees, students, etc) you might need to send out reminders to remind some people to take the survey.

* Analyze the responses

You can begin to analyze the responses as soon as you receive them. Unlike traditional methods, online surveys make it possible to analyze responses without human intervention. Responses are received in electronic format and immediately added to a database. Once in the database, they can be manipulated with a variety of tools, including the survey software, statistical packages, spreadsheets, and presentation programs. The key to proper analysis of online surveys is no different than that for traditional methods. You must be able to filter the data and display results in a variety of formats for effective analysis. And always remember to relate the analysis back to your objective.

* Recommend a course of action

The last step in conducting effective online surveys is to recommend a course of action. With your objective in mind, you should be able to recommend specific actions as a result of your survey. Your recommendations can vary widely depending upon the nature of the problem you are trying to solve. If you cannot identify any actions as a result of your survey, then it is highly possible that your objective was too broad, your information needs were incorrect or incomplete, or your questionnaire was poorly written. In these cases, your recommended action should be to conduct further study.

Greenfield Online--A Paid Survey Site Comparison

 by: Jennifer Hall

If you've done enough web browsing, looking for ways to make a little cash online, the idea of getting paid for surveys has probably come up. The great thing about it is, it's truly an easy way to make some cash, and it's legitimate. As a member of over 80 paid survey sites, with my own site recommending the best of these sites, I have come to know a good survey site from a bad one. And I do believe that Greenfield Online is one of the best.

One reason being that if you check their site every few days, you can always expect to find new surveys, and can expect to get paid cash for a lot of them. The way it works is you go to their site and choose from a list of available surveys, fill it out (most take me less that 10 minutes - these are some of the easiest, shortest surveys out there), and in most cases, if you're one of the first thousand people, you get $1 for the survey. Although I've seen others that pay $2-$10 to the first 500 or thousand people...if I'm on the ball and check the site regularly, I'll easily get $2 for a survey here and there. On average, if you check back often, you can expect to easily make $10 in less than a couple of months, and usually for a very short amout of time taking the surveys. It may not seem like much, but considering that most surveys generally just take a few minutes, it's really worth it. Especially if you combine that with active membership in a few other good survey sites.

The surveys can literally be over anything, if it's being marketed, it's possible that a survey over it will be available - from food to movies to banking. They, as well as most other survey sites, cover it all. However food seems to be the most prevalent.

The layout of the site is nice and professional, with attractive, rounded, and green design. It's very easy to navigate. Aerial Infrared Roof Moisture Surveys

IR P/PM (infrared predictive/preventive maintenance) is not limited to annual infrared surveys of electrical switchgear.

For instance, infrared thermography can be a very effective tool for roof asset management. IR roof moisture surveys are performed on roofs to quantify the extent of roof moisture (water) that is inside the roof system. Infrared thermography is not leak management. No matter how the water got into the substrate, the purpose of this type of survey is simply to find and document where the water is located. Extending the life of a roof will save the owner the expense and aggravation of re-roofing or re-covering. Re-roofing means that the roof is taken down to the decking and replaced completely. Re-covering means that the waterproofing layer(s) are removed, the wet insulation is removed and replaced and a new waterproofing layer is put down. The cost of an infrared roof moisture survey is three to five CENTS per square foot. It cost between three and five DOLLARS per square foot to repair/replace roofs, so knowing the exact location of the subsurface water is extremely useful information, since only those areas that are damaged need to be repaired. This information is used to plan budgets and when needed, as a bid document for contracting repairs and/or replacement of the roof.

ROOF MAINTENANCE IN GENERAL

The ravages of sun, wind, rain, snow, chemicals, leakage, rapid changes in temperature and time - will eventually cause every roof to fail. Some roofs last 40-50 yearswhen they are well maintained. Owners may believe that a roof warranty will somehow protect them from having to do maintenance. Not so, as roof warranties are written by roofing manufacturers for the purpose of protecting themselves from liability. For example, often a warranty is written so that if improperly installed or defective roofing materials are used on a roof and water leaks into the electrical switchgear room causing an explosion, the roofing manufacturer will replace the materials, the roofer will reinstall the materials, but the building owner has to pay for the replacement of the switchgear and any downtime that resulted from the failure. Also, the roofers and roofing manufacturers liability, in the case of roof failures are also reduced by vaguely written roof warranties, which do not define words like "regular" or "routine" maintenance. Not accepting the roof warranty is not the answer, since the roof will not be installed unless the owner agrees to the warranty. To eliminate these problems, the building owner should have an agreement with a qualified roofer or roof consultant to inspect and maintain the roof (in accordance with the terms of the warranty) at least once a year.

Waterproofing problems manifest themselves in two ways: Leakage and entrained moisture contamination. Leakage is pretty simple, although the leak inside the building rarely directly relates to the exact spot on the roof, since the water flows down the slope of the roof to a spot that is not sealed and into the building at that point. Most leaks occur where the waterproofing is sealed or where there is a penetration of the roof. Since most types of roof systems absorb some amount of water, it is harder to find the exact spot of water contamination in the insulation because it may not leak into the building until it has absorbed all the water it can hold. There are three types of surveys that are used to find water in a roof. Nuclear gauges-which count neutrons, capacitance meters-which measure resistance, and infrared-which measures heat. Both nuclear gauges and capacitance meters are used to take spot readings on a 10' X 10' or 20' X 20' grid on the roof. These measurements are used to extrapolate where the water is from the readings obtained from the gauge. They are good for types of roofs that do not gain or lose much solar energy and therefore, do not lend themselves to infrared.

BASICS OF INFRARED ROOF MOISTURE SURVEYS

During the day, the sun radiates energy onto the roof and into the roof substrate, and then at night, the roof radiates the heat back into outer space (See Figure 1). This is called radiational cooling. Areas of the roof that are of a higher mass (wet) retain this heat longer than that of the lower mass (dry) areas. Infrared imagers can detect this heat and "see" the warmer, higher mass areas, during the "window" of uneven heat dissipation.

Figure 1) Areas of the roof that are wet retain heat longer than dry areas.

Some roofs and insulation types or combinations do not absorb any water. These roofs leak straight into the building. Even roofs, which have insulation types that do absorb water, some do not exhibit a good infrared signal, primarily for two reasons. 1) The surface is too reflective, and/or 2) the roofs ballast is so thick (or dense), that daylight radiation is not absorbed into the substrate (insulation), therefore it cannot be emitted back into the atmosphere at night. Even with a strong infrared signal, factors on the roof can affect the analysis and interpretation of the data. Some of these factors: water between multiple layers, old patches, heavy flood coats, reflective coatings, heat-producing equipment under the roof or heat blowing down onto the roof, stains, ponding water on the roof, heavy build-up of ballast at parapet walls and along edges, etc. These roofs should be inspected by other methods as described above.

WALK-ON INFRARED ROOF SURVEYING

To perform a walk-on or on-roof survey properly, a crew of three to four people is needed: an experienced infrared thermographer and helper, an experienced roof consultant or roofer and the building owners' representative for access and security. The crew walks around the roof(s) and when an area of suspect moisture is found, the roof consultant verifies it is wet and then the helper marks the edges of the area directly on the roof with marking paint as instructed by the thermographer. The crew needs authorization and access to all areas and levels of the roof(s) from either ladders or roof hatches and plenty of time to collect data. The infrared images are stored on videotape or digital media and printed (See Figure 2).

Figure 2) On-roof IR image.

The next day, the thermographer goes back on the roof(s) to take matching visual photographs of the marked areas that contain subsurface moisture. The problem with on-roof infrared is that when one is standing on the roof, eye-level is at best six feet over the surface. Even with the best hand-held infrared camera available, there is virtually no way to get large areas (800 sq. ft. blobs or 100 long striations) of moisture contamination on the screen in one infrared shot. Taking multiple shots is labor-intensive and makes the report confusing. When performing on-roof surveys, many times you cant see the forest for the trees. Marking the roof is fairly easy, but it is very difficult/time-consuming to produce accurate drawings of the wet areas from painted lines on a roof. Often the drawing supplied by the owner is outdated, incorrect or even non-existent.

AERIAL INFRARED ROOF SURVEYING

There is never a time when on-roof imagery is better than aerial imagery. While the best IR imagery of a roof is taken from the air, the same laws of physics apply to both aerial IR and on-roof IRlike a dry roof, low winds and no rain on the night of the survey. Also, the "window" when the roof is radiating heat differently from wet and dry areas is longer with aerial infrared because slight nuances of temperatures over large areas are distinguishable. The high angle of view allows the aerial thermographer to produce more usable imagery and therefore accurate CAD drawings. The cameras that are used for on-roof surveys are not of sufficient spatial resolution to obtain good imagery from flight altitudes of 1,200 1,500 feet above the roof, so high-resolution, large format IR cameras (See Figure 3) are required.

Figure 3) Large format infrared imager, fixed-mounted in a light aircraft.

Once the aircraft is over a building, very little time (five minutes per 200,000 square feet, about 25 minutes for two million square feet) is required to fly over making multiple passes. The imagery is recorded on digital videotape. Visual photographs are taken earlier in the day or the next day. After returning to the office, the photos are printed and the thermographs are saved on the computer. The raw video imagery, thermographs and photographs are used to make an edited videotape copy of the passes over the building. Both visual and infrared images are used to do the analysis by overlaying the CAD drawing of the roof over the digitized photographs and thermographs. The drawings always need to be corrected, because rooftop equipment has been removed, moved or added since the last update of the drawings. Then, areas of suspected moisture contamination are drawn on the CAD file. The result is a report where visual, infrared and CAD components (printed and video) are well matched and lined-up. The report is given to a roof consultant who verifies the wet insulation during the day, while making other condition notes on the roof.

Fixed-wing aerial infrared imaging provides many advantages over on-roof infrared imaging:

Access to multiple levels of the roof is not a problem.
High-angle, straight down infrared images lessen reflection problems.
High-resolution images capture large areas at once, making report writing easier and less expensive to produce.
Plan-view imaging allows for infrared images, visual images and AutoCAD drawings to be reconciled closely. As a result, the report is clear, concise and easy to understand (See Figure 4a, 4b, 4c).
Plan view imaging allows accurate marking of areas of suspect roof moisture contamination.
The printed CAD drawings can be used on the roof to paint areas of moisture contamination directly on the roof (after verification), if desired.

Figure 4a) Photograph of a roof.

Figure 4b) Thermograph of a roof.

Figure 4c) Scaled CAD drawing of a roof.

The aerial infrared thermographer can wait for a good night for imaging, surveying many roofs under good conditions.
The trending of roof moisture becomes possible.
An aircrew of two can easily survey many millions of square feet in a single night.
Processing the data is done in the office, not on the roof.
Report components can be purchased as needed. Aerial IR allows the building owner to buy only the report he needs at that time.

The biggest advantage of aerial infrared is on roofs that are the most difficult to image from any distance or angle. Roofs that, for instance, have a lot of ballast, are covered with reflective coatings or for whatever reason are impossible to image while standing on the roof. With high-resolution, plan view aerial imagery, slight nuances of temperature can be seen from far enough away to actually see the pattern of heat and make a determination of where the problems are.

CONCLUSIONS

Every day millions of square feet of perfectly good roofing materials are disposed of in our landfills. Why? Because roofs are often replaced because know one knows where exactly the roof is damaged until it is too late. If you want your roof to last, it must be regularly maintained by professionals. Infrared roof moisture surveying is the best method of non-destructive testing on roofs, and aerial infrared is the best platform for performing infrared roof moisture surveys. Improvements in IR cameras and flight methodology, aerial infrared thermography and aerial infrared reports are getting better and more useable everyday.

Where to Find the Highest Paid Surveys

Many marketing companies based on the Internet claim to offer the highest paid surveys, but only a few truly have good deals. When searching for the highest paid surveys online, it is a good idea to find websites that are well maintained and professional. Some of the surveys that pay the best are focus groups.

It is a good idea for people interested in earning extra income by taking surveys to research the companies offering the surveys before giving them their time or money. One way to tell which sites are legitimate is to look for survey directories that require the sites posting the surveys to pay to be listed. If the companies advertising their surveys must pay the directory, then the directory has an incentive to connect them to people willing to do the surveys in order to keep their business. Survey companies with professional, well maintained websites are usually pretty reputable. They are normally top marketing firms with good reputations. Cheaply designed websites are often good indicators of less reputable and potentially misleading opportunities.

People looking for the highest paid surveys should look into participating in focus groups. Focus groups require the participants to give up several hours of their time to meet with other consumers and marketers to discuss particular products. Focus groups are often very long and detailed, but they tend to pay well. People can make up to $150 an hour in some focus groups.

It is important to be realistic when judging the promises of Internet survey companies. Sites that offer extravagant rewards are usually not worth the time, while sites promising modest compensation are more likely to be honest and worthwhile.

Paid Surveys Info provides detailed information about free paid surveys, cash paid surveys, and paid online surveys, as well as paid survey directories, and advice about paid survey scams. Paid Surveys Info is the sister site of Mystery Shoppers Web.

Can You Really Make Money with Online Surveys?James Jones

 Paid Survey" sites that claim
to pay you for your opinion. Question is: Will they really
pay you for just taking simple surveys online?

Well, I did a little experiment. Actually, it was a pretty
big experiment. I researched several hundred of these
companies.

What did I find? You guessed it:

Most were scams.

They want your email address so they can spam you. Or they
require you to accumulate 10 million zillion points before
they pay you. Or they say they pay but don't.

But, as I was weeding out all the scams I would
occasionally come across a legitimate company. It didn't
happen very often, but out of the hundreds of companies I
researched, I found 68 good ones.

Now, let me tell you -- you are not going to get rich doing
surveys online. And, if anybody tells you that you can earn
"thousands" a month -- they are lying to you. (My best
month so far I earned $104.00)

But, on the other hand it's not very hard work either. Most
surveys are short. I did one this morning that took less
than 5 minutes. It only paid $4.00 but for 5 minutes work I
am not going to complain. Yesterday I did one that paid
$10.00. Two weeks ago I did a $25.00 one. And a couple of
months ago I had one that paid $50. It varies. And sometimes
there are very short screener surveys that don't
pay anything -- you have to take the screeners to see if
you qualify for the paid surveys.

All in all, it's not a bad way to earn a few extra bucks a
month.

Working at Home using Online Paid Surveys

An interesting technique to earn some cash working at home is to participate on Paid Online Surveys.

The system is quite easy and ideal for single moms or dads, or everybody who have a good use of some extra cash in month.

Needed Experience

None, you just need to be a normal consumer who watchs TV, gooes shopping, makes vacations, drives a car , uses consumer electronics and so on. It is also useful to know the Cinema program and read newspapers.

Needed Equipment

You will need a normal PC with Internet Connection. You should be familiar with basic internet applications. The Earning Potential depends on the Survey, you can earn from $5 till $250 per Survey. If you specialized yourself in niche areas (sophisticated consumer electronics, medicine) you can get top payments for 10-15 minutes survey.

Needed Initial Investment

Usually you need an initial investment of about $35 as one time payment. Most of the Paid Survey Research Companies offer also free bonuses (i.e. 3 days free vacation), so the initial investment is minimal. After 2-5 surveys the initial fee is earned quickly.

Where to start?

There are several Survey Companies in the market. The procedure is almost the same, so the differences are the entry fee, free bonuses and reputation of the company.

Paid Surveys Providers

Survey Platinum
Earning Potential from $5 to $250 per survey/focus group

Survey Scout

Earning potential from $5 to $75, focus groups earn up to $150 per hour.

Survey Juntion

Can earn from$25-$99 for online suveys, up to $200 for participation in Focus Groups.

Get Cash for Surveys
pays $5-$150 for Surveys , up to $250 per hour for Focus Groups

PaidSurveysOnline
offers $5 to $75 per survey, up to $150 per hour for participation in Focus Groups.

What are Focus Groups?

Focus Groups are individuals with specific habits, gender, familiar situation, etc. I.e. "single male smokers without children living in a big city". When a survey company is interested on a special Focus Group, the participants are choosen according to the needed criteria.

Tips for Success withOnline Surveys

1)Plan your time in advance.Reserve a regular number of hours per week (i.e. when your children are in the school) to work with surveys.

2)Keep your working place well organized, creating an inspiring working athmosphere.

3) Prepare drinks and some snack for at least an one-hour session. Do not let other people interrupt or disturb you while answering a survey. Redirect your phone to the answering machine.

4)Do not try to participate on topics you are not familiar with, also in the case the earning may be higher. The Surveys are quite smart and will identify your lack of experience soon and interrupt the survey.

5)Give true, honest data according your experience as a consumer. You get paid for that!

6)Identify your "strong areas" for giving information (i.e. Cinema, Consumer Electronics). Try to participate in surveys covering your "strenghts". You can get profitable participation in "Focus Groups"

Summary:

Taking online surveys is an excellent opportunity to start earning additional money online. It can be time consuming, but is good paid. For work-at-home earners without willing to enter deeply in Affiliate Programs or Internet Marketing, is a good alternative.

Online Paid Surveys

Around the world, companies spend over $250 billion dollars a year trying to convince consumers to buy their products and services. And about $800 million dollars is devoted to market research. Thats why your opinions on goods and services are so important and as highly paid for.

Before launching a new product or service, companies are willing to pay for online paid surveys that enable them to improve their products or services prior to releasing them for sale.

Today more people have Internet access worldwide. Thats why online paid surveys have become a very fast and effective method to consumers is realized. And you have the opportunity to make money online by completing surveys for companies that need your opinion. Companies are paying billions dollars to market research firms to conduct online surveys. Then, those market research firms pay money to anyone that fills out their surveys online.

Understanding how people think and buy products and services helps companies improve their products and services and make more money. Thats why companies are willing to pay people good money for online paid surveys because you help them to increase their profits.

There are over 7,5 million companies worldwide that actually pay consumers.

Everyone can do surveys online and get paid. Paid surveys are the perfect opportunity for stay-at-home moms, students, and anyone who is looking for a home part-time job.

How does it work?

Companies that need a survey hire hundreds of market research companies. Then, the market research companies look for the participants to complete the online surveys. The participants are paid by the market researchers, in the form of a cheque or through Paypal. Then the market research companies analyze these data.

To gain the access to the market research companies you should subscribe to a Paid Survey Database. For a small, one-time subscription fee you are given an access to a comprehensive list of market research companies that will pay you for completing surveys online or participating in online focus groups.

Depending on your profile, you will qualify to complete different Online Paid Surveys for cash and other rewards. And you can select the time to complete the online paid surveys and which surveys you want to do.

You will get paid to give your opinion either in person, over the phone, or online. These require more effort on your part, but the cash payments are much higher.

You will get to participate in other kinds of studies including trying new products or watching movie trailers before they are launched.

To get started all you will need is Internet access and an email address. After registration you will get access to the information which provides the inventory of marketing companies that are looking for people like you to complete online paid surveys, participate in focus groups, review movie trailors, get paid to test new products and drive a car.

Advantage

Paid Online Survey is a very interesting and easy job. Everyone can do surveys online and get paid. You need only access to the Internet and an email address. You can select the time to complete the online paid surveys and which surveys you want to do yourself.

Disadvantage

You should pay for the most of the Paid Survey Database services. But this is a one-time subscription fee only and the most reputable companies offer a money-back guarantee. So you have zero financial risk.

My Advice

The chances are high that some companies will tend to send so much unwarranted email that it could be considered SPAM. You should to have a separate email account as you will get a LOT of new email.
But remember that if you use a spam filter you also will not receive most surveys. So your spam filter should be turned off.
You should join several of the free paid survey or rewarded surveys which you can find below. They are free to join and are reputable.
Sign up with one of the more reputable paid survey database agencies.
You might choose to pay for "Paid Survey Database services", but never pay to take a Paid Survey or be on their waiting list.
You should visit each Paid Survey Database Services site and read about how they work.
Be wary if Paid Survey Database Services are free. They will most likely spam you or are just out to get referral commissions. Those paid survey services are no good because they may sell your email, spam.
Most paid surveys companies offer a 90-day money back guarantee. This is good because it sometimes takes up to 60-90 days to start getting the good surveys.
Consider the survey companies that have higher-quality websites and charge a one-time fee. The list of them you can find below.
You need to carefully read each actual Paid Survey you sign up for. Sometimes they will auto-fill a checkbox that allows them to sell your email. Be sure to uncheck it.

My recommendation is to visit the most of the paid survey services and then determine the best of them to go with. Be sure to sign up with a few of the Highest Quality Paid Surveys programs around. These are very reputable organizations that want your input and reward you for it. RichTracks Top Paid Survey Sites will help you to find the best of them.

Paid Surveys - Interview with a Legend!

Josh: I'm here with Rob Davis today and he's going to tell us a little bit about his success with Paid Online Surveys.

So Rob, when was it that you first decided to start taking part in Paid Surveys and Focus Groups?

Rob: I've been doing Paid Surveys for about 4 years now. When I first started back in 2001, there were only a handful of Market Research Companies - who provide you with the surveys - listed on the internet. I signed up for I think 5 of them. I didnt want to turn it into a full time job because I was already working 40 hours a week down at the factory and didnt really think it would be suitable to have to complete a whole lot of surveys as I wanted to have some spare time for myself too!

Josh: Ok, yes I can imagine! So you signed up for 5 Market Research Companies(MRC's) How did that go?

Rob: It took I think 3 days before one of them replied and asked me if I wanted to take part in a survey about home appliances. I accepted and filled out their survey, which was 60 questions long and it took about 10 minutes of my time overall. Next minute I checked my account and found out that there was $50 in it! I was dumbfounded. It was at that moment I decided to start taking it seriously and have never looked back since.

Josh: Wow! So how many MRC's have you joined so far?

Rob: I'm currently a member of over 300 MRC's. There was a time where I had joined over 400 and I was making on average $6000 a month, but it was taking up too much time and I'd rather be playing golf or going on holidays with my family, so I decided to cut back a little.

Josh: Now there's probably people out there who are wondering how you came to sign up for 400 MRC's. Can you offer them some advice about; firstly how to find them and secondly which ones to go for and ones to stay away from?

Rob: Sure. Firstly it's imperative that you sign up for a Paid Survey Database, that lists all the immediate MRC's on the internet. They are usually quite cheap - about $60 for a year membership plus they also give you some free bonuses aswell. They always update their site with new information on what's going on with with all the MRC's on the internet. I'm a member of Paid Surveys Free and I believe you are aswell Josh?

Josh: Yes, yes I am.

Rob: Yes, well they provide you with more than enough MRC's to sign up for. Also they rate which ones are the best with a little information about who they provide surveys for, so you know if they're worth your time or not. I suggest you sign up for 20 of the top MRC's to begin with. Now remember MRC's are free to sign up with, so you've got nothing to lose. Within a couple of days you should get some responses for some survey invitations. If not then go and sign up for more! It's that simple. If you're looking to take it a step further and turn Paid-Survey-taking into a profitable home business like I have, then get out there and sign up for as many as possible. Don't be lazy! Make a real effort to get your name out into the world of Market Research. I didn't get to where I am today by filling out the occasional survey here and there. I spend a great deal of my day partaking in surveys and focus groups, aswell as researching new companies on the horizon. It's very important to keep up-to-date with all the new MRC's flooding the market. Infact I find that the new ones are usually potential goldmines! Sign up for them straight away and as the saying goes - "First in best dressed!"

Josh: Great. Just one final question before I let you go Rob. Can you give people, who are looking to get started, some tips about how they can maximise the number of invitations they can recieve?

Rob: Sure. Every MRC requires you to submit a small amount of information about yourself so they can find out which surveys will best suit your personality. The most important thing to remember when submitting your information is to not lie about yourself! I made that mistake once, thinking that if I made myself out to be this great person who knows pretty much everything about anything, then I might just get more responses than if I just sent them the truth. Not true. Infact some MRC's responded to me, saying that they decided to decline my membership. I was shocked and replied by asking why they would not let me join and they said that "due to my unbelievable portfolio, they were unable to find suitable surveys or focus groups for me to take part in." Which pretty much meant - "We know you're lying!"

Josh: Interesting. Anything else you'd like to add?

Rob: Create a separate email account that you will make only for your paid survey business. Turn off all the span blockers that your email provider offers as some reponses may show up in your junk mail or bulk mail. Make sure you check your email at least twice a day. You want to make sure you accept invitations straight away as they may only be offered for a short time only. Treat it like a real job! Because in theory, that's what it is. If you want to become as successful as me and many others alike, start taking it seriously, focussing as much time and energy towards building your Paid Survey business.

Josh: Thanks for your time Rob. let's just run through it again quickly. First of all, sign up for a Paid Survey Database like Paid Surveys Free. Secondly, create a separate email address just for your paid survey business, turning off your email provider's span blocker. Thirdly, join the top 20 MRC's using good truthful information about yourself. Last of all, wait a couple of days for responses and if none come, try signing up for more. If you would like to turn it into a highly profitable business, then sign up for as many MRC's as possible!

Rob: You got it!

Josh: Thanks for your time Rob. I'm sure you've helped alot of people out there looking to get started with Paid Surveys.

Rob: No worries Josh. Glad to be of service.

Paid Surveys - All You Ever Need To Know!

Ok another ridiculous attempt to make money on the internet right?

Wrong! This is great way to make some instant cash easily. Let me tell you a little about 'Paid Surveys'.

What are they exactly?

They are simply this - 'Paid Surveys conducted by major companies in order to better understand what their market actually wants, which intern will save them money on future productions.'

Due to the high risk involved in producing new products, these companies are willing to pay members of the public money to participate in their surveys. The amount of money you could aquire from participating is anywhere from $25 to $150.

Now this may not seem like alot, but what if you were asked to complete 10 paid surveys at $50 each? You would make $500. Not too bad for answering a couple of questions.

How do I sign up for Paid surveys?

The best way is to sign up with an 'Paid Survey Provider'. Market Research Companies(MRC's) who conduct the surveys, pay money for the data provided(you and me). The Paid Survey Providers then take their cut after and we take ours of course. Simple as that.

How do I know which Paid Survey Provider would be best for me?

The best Paid Survey Provider to be apart of, would be one that has the most clients, which would give you more opportunities to participate in more paid surveys. Another thing you must find out, is whether or not they mostly offer cash rewards, as many paid survey sites do not and instead offer you the chance to go in the draw for a prize.
Not Recommended*

So if you want to make some money through paid surveys, always keep this in mind.

Do you have any tips that can help me make the most of this opportunity?

Make sure you check your Paid Survey Provider often because they are updated all the time and you never know when a new company may become registered with them. It's best to register early with a new company as the old saying goes, 'first in best dressed'. In other words, the earlier you register, the better the chance you will have of being invited to participate in their surveys.

Another tip is to register with companies that offer cash rewards as we talked about above. Lots of companies will give out non-cash prizes as well as allowing you the chance to go in a draw for a cash reward. Make sure you register with companies that offer you money first.

Register all of your family members for as many companies as possible. This gives you a better chance to be offered more surveys, which would mean that you can make more money in the long run.

Make sure you stay patient. There are databases that are free to sign up with, but they give you a small chance of gaining invitations to surveys. That's why I suggest signing up for a membership with a Paid Survey Provider. You will gain access to more companies providing surveys which will help you prosper more in the long run.

So is it worth it?

Of course it is! It may not make you filthy rich, but it is a fun and easy way to make a few extra bucks. I find the surveys to be enjoyable to participate in aswell as the rewards being quite a welcome bonus. It's great when I recieve a check for $50 that I can't even remember what for!

Happy Surveying!

Are you looking for a way to make money on the Internet? Have you been fruitless? There are the schemes you sign up for that actually want money from you! Well Ive been on the web for 7 years. That is a long time to find out how the Internet works, and how I can make money from it. I believe the secret is online surveys. They are fun to do, free, you get to give your opinion to popular companies, and get money in the process. Anyone can do it and companies want people on their survey panel.

How does it work you say?

You go to an online survey companys website, and they ask you usually Do you want to join our consumer panel? You press the link, and up comes a form to fill out with your name, address (so they know where to send the check), email address, age, and other demographic information. Press Submit, and they tell you that they will email you when a survey is available. In one or two days they may send you an email with a link to a survey. They will usually tell you about the prize you will get such as If you qualify for this survey, you will receive a $5 check. Since qualify sounds like an iffy word, it is best to sign up to many survey sites, so you know at least a few of the surveys you will qualify for. They dont usually send a lot of spam or junk mail. Surveys sites do not send spam so unless you are signed up to 100 sites, you will only get about 1-5 emails a day for surveys to do. After completing a survey you can wait about 2-4 weeks for your check to be mailed to you, or can acquire points in your private account until you reach a certain amount ($10 or $25).

Its EASY, and FUN, and your actually earn CASH. So start signing up, and remember A survey a day keeps the boredom away!

Free Fun Survey Online

Unless you've been hiding under a rock lately, I'm sure you've heard how you can make money by completing paid surveys online. The only problem with what you've probably seen, is that the sites that list these companies want you to pay them for the list. Give me a break! Don't ever pay someone for something that you can get for free.

There are a ton of these research companies looking for people like you to give your opinion, and they will pay you cash for it. Most importantly, it doesn't cost a thing to join.

Paid survey participation is fun and free, and in my opinion, not intended to be sold. However, there is a well known company online, I won't mention the name, that will charge you 70 bucks, for a list of research companies that conduct paid surveys. Hold up, 70 bucks? Why pay them 70 freaking dollars when all you have to do is find the research companies that conduct the surveys yourself?

Now, I'm not going sit here and knock the companies that charge you for a list, but what I am going do is tell you what I know. I'll give it to you straight up.

First, there are several types of surveys that you can participate in for free, which include online surveys, phone surveys, mail surveys and product testing. For this article I will only be addressing online surveys, because that is what I know most about, that is what I do. Also for the purpose of this article, the information I will be providing pertains to one particular paid survey company. This company pays you cash! That's why I like it so much. You don't need to accumulate points or credits to purchase items or receive coupons or any of that nonsense. You get paid cold hard cash immediately after completing the survey!

Let me tell you this too, if you think you can get rich taking online surveys then you are sadly mistaken. Some of these claims of $25 to $100 per hour are simply ridiculous! If that were the case wouldn't everyone be doing it? Exactly! Would I even be sitting here writing this if I could be taking a survey that pays 100 bucks an hour? No. You better believe I'd be counting my money, while soaking up the sun on some exotic vacation resort far from here! But on the serious side, you can and will make some extra money if you join (for free I might add).

Basically all you have to do is find the surveys that are free to join. (I'll give you a link to the one I use at the end of this article.) Then you just fill out the simple registration form and questionnaire. The questionnaire is what the research company uses to determine which surveys you best qualify for.

That's it! It's all you have to do to become a participant. You will be notified by email every time there is a survey for you to take.

Every time you get an email, you simply click the link and it will take you directly to the paid survey form, complete it and get paid. When you accumulate enough cash, just click a button in your profile admin and request a check.
Now how simple and easy is that? It's easy money!

By now you are probably wondering where to go to get in on this. But, let me add a little twist to it for you. Not only will you get paid for completing your own surveys. But you will make even more money when your friends complete a survey, and even more when their friends do it too! It is unbelievable! You make money on your friends participation and when their friends participate.

All you have to do is send all your friends an email so they can join then tell them to do the same with people they know too. The next thing you know you'll be making money with little or no effort on your part at all. Then again, you don't have to tell anyone if you don't want to, just complete your own surveys and collect your cash! Go on over to the site and fill out the simply form and join today, remember there is no catch, it's fun and 100% free!
